Welcome to Worthing Tuesday Embroiderers Guild.
Our ‘normal’ blurb is below. But these are not normal times, and sadly we will miss our regular get-togethers for the time being. Unfortunately it probably goes without saying that activities are on hold at present due to the virus. Do come and visit us on our Facebook page, where we will be sharing what we are working on while we are in isolation at home. Either click here or go onto FB and type in Worthing Tuesday Embroiderers Guild (please note, this is the new page: the old page will be closed shortly). If you want to comment or add photos then you need to be on FB yourself, but if you would like to just lurk around and have a look, then you can see what is on there without signing up. Maybe by the end of this time we’ll have a great collection of new work for a ‘show and tell’ session.
For new members, we’re sorry we won’t get to meet you for a while, but do come and visit us on FB, and we look forward to meeting you when things are back to normal.
You are warmly invited to come along to the Worthing Tuesday Embroiderers Guild. You are equally welcome if you are a beginner or more experienced. Members’ interests range from traditional embroidery to contemporary textile art, as well as other related subjects such as weaving, dyeing, printing, beading, mixed-media etc. We have monthly talks from interesting speakers, several informal workshops per month where members share their skills with each other, as well as more formal ‘taught’ workshops several times per year. There’s a friendly welcome, and we hope that you will quickly feel at home. There’s more information for new members on the ‘Info for New Members’ page.
We meet on the second Tuesday of the month from 2.15 pm to 4pm, usually at Maybridge Keystone Centre, Raleigh Way, in Goring-by-Sea. You are welcome to visit up to 3 times as a guest before you join. There are details of our monthly meetings and other events on the Programme page.
Worthing has two distinct but closely-related branches of the Embroiderers Guild. The Worthing Saturday branch also has a programme of speakers and workshops – you will find their details on the National Embroiders Guild website. Some members belong to both, or join one and attend the other occasionally as a guest.
